Red Hot Updates!

Hi all! Here's what's going on with RHB lately:

1. Red Hot Blue is *SUPER* excited to embark on a weekend trip to Los Angeles this January, the 29th-31st! We are volunteering at AIDS Project LA on Friday, where we will be helping bag groceries and help out at the charity any way that we can. Check out the link to learn more about AIDS Project LA! Later on Friday, we are hoping to meet up with some Goucher alumni. Saturday, we are attending LA Acappella Fest, an all-day a cappella conference, where we will take all different kinds of acappella-related classes: from beatboxing, to solo singing, to group dynamics, to stage presence. We are really excited for the LA trip and for the connections to be made, along with the acappella knowledge to bring back to Goucher's campus!

2. Wondering what's going on with our website, wondering why some of the pages haven't been updated? Because we are about to launch our beautiful, brand new Red Hot Blue website! It will be out this month, before we all return to Goucher for Spring semester.

3. Some things to look forward to this semester include auditions, Valentine's Day singing-grams, Spring concert, and more! We also hope to volunteer with an AIDS charity and raise as much as we can for the cause! Stay tuned.

Yours,
Red Hot Blue

  • October 10th, Parents' Weekend: Student/Alumni Performance, 12 pm; Soccer game National Anthem, 7:25 pm

  • October 12th, Explore Goucher Day: Opening Celebration

  • October 16-18th, Fall Break Road trip: Lehigh University and Rutgers University!

That's what we've got for October! In November, you can look forward to our Fall/Alumni show, a Gopher Hole performance, and we'll also be singing at Moveable Feast in Baltimore (mfeast.org). More updates on all of that soon!

Finally, we are also in the process of checking out various AIDS charities to donate to. We are also looking to spread AIDS awareness around Goucher's campus, with information pamphlets and movie nights.

That's all for now! Stay tuned!

...Some BIG NEWS!!!!

Hi everyone! It's been a while since our last update, and one is definitely due.

The last two weeks have been a busy time for us. We had the honor of singing at the Trustees Dinner two Fridays ago, and this past Saturday we held our annual Acapellathon, featuring 6 acapella groups and bringing 3 AIDS charities to Goucher to bring information about their causes.

The BIG NEWS... Drumroll please...
Red Hot Blue has officially passed the $3,000 mark in donations for the year!!! We have officially DOUBLED the donation amount reached in any other year since our founding. That means even more money donated to charities, which is especially important in the economic climate we are in, which is unfortunately causing many AIDS charities and non-profits to have to cut back or close their doors completely. Thanks to all of our donors and audience members this year who have graciously donated their money to an extremely important cause, however, we can prevent this from happening.

So, thanks again to all of you! We are helping to succeed in the fight against AIDS!

Sincerely,

~ Red Hot Blue
