Schedule!

Yo yo yo! We just heavily updated our scheduling page to include the MEGA list of events we have planned this semester, so check that out!

Very-near events:
*'Saturday Night Live', 9.30 PM in the Chapel during Family Weekend
This is the first time to see the Newbie Bloobies in action, so come check it out! It's also our first official performance of the year!
*Annual Ocean City retreat and fundraising mission, October 10th-12th
We'll be raising money for the new charities that we've just selected for the group, and spreading the word about safe sex and the fight against HIV all over the boardwalk.

We're still planning our road trip on the weekend of October 17th, so if you want us to come sing with you at your school and let us crash on your floors for the night, let us know ASAP -- details about that will be coalescing very soon.

Look for more specific info on charity initiatives soon. In the meantime, check out A Closer Walk to preview the film we're showing at our World AIDS Day event in December.

Peace out! See you all at our show on October 4th!

Rehearsing...

Hi all,

We have begun rehearsals and things are going well. We've been mostly refreshing old songs from last year, but have also begun to learn new music. The Newbies are settling in quite well and, as we expected, are picking up music fantastically.

Good news: the Rebs have agreed to co-host our Halloween concert on November 1st in Pearlstone Atrium. We are also going to seek out an off-campus group from another school to make it a concert of acca-mayhem. We are sure that the night will be full of good acappella fun, and good post-acappella Halloween themed fun as well.

We've been collecting the necessary pieces to finish the website overhaul, and that update should be complete sometime during this week, so look for it! We're changing the format quite a bit and it is going to be gooood lookin'.

That's about all for now. Look for details to come on our Fall concert date, a film screening, and more final details about our tours this semester.

Don't forget to help fight AIDS!

Website's back, and so are we!

It's been far too long since we've had an update on this thingamajig. Forget the catch-up, let's get down to business:

New members have been inducted into the group! Here they are:

Caitlin Donohue, 2012
Sam Fried, 2011
Matt Watman, 2012

We had some fantastic auditions prior to their induction, but we made the right choice, and we have some SERIOUSLY talented new kids. We can't wait to get them into rehearsal and on stage with us all across Goucher, Baltimore, and the rest of the Ol' U. S. of A.

In other news, a New Exec Board has been elected as well.

Jay Michael Gilman, 2009, President
Alex Coffey, 2010, Business Manager
Catherine Slaymaker, 2010, Musical Director
Arreon Harley, 2010, Assistant Musical Director
Georgia Akehurst, 2010, Secretary
Sam Fried, 2011, Treasurer
Evan Marx, 2011, AIDS Site Coordinator
Julian Rees, 2009, Webmaster

A new faculty advisor has agreed to come on board and help us out. The wonderful Wendy Belzer-Litzke, the Special Assistant to the President, has decided to be our faculty friend, and it's been a very fruitful partnership so far. We are so glad that she's decided to help us out.

We're also planning quite a few gigs and such at the moment. Parents Weekend looks like it will bring a number of performances, and look for a Halloween show and a Halloween party hosted by Rho Eta Beta to follow suit later in October. We're picking a date for our Fall Concert ASAP, and look for a FEW guest groups to possibly come join us.

A Washington D.C. Road Trip is in the works, so if you know any groups in that area, we'll be there during the weekend of October 18th. (Hit us up!!) We're also taking our annual Ocean City trip this year the weekend before our road trip, so watch out for some guerilla a cappella singing on the boardwalk there.

That's about it for now. We promise to keep this blog up and running. Also, look for some big changes and updates to the rest of the website; we're sweeping away the cobwebs and getting this big ol' machine alive and kickin'.

As always -- help fight AIDS!
